I took a little break over the weekend due to being just plain busy!!! Though I did use my brain in a different artistic way. I cooked, baked and cleaned. I am constantly trying to improve myself when it comes to creating the perfect dish. On Saturday I cleaned up from Friday’s bbq and I even mopped my kitchen floor…woo hoo a minor victory for this woman!!! After that I made hamburger gravy to go over a potato blend (purple, yellow and red) accompanied by yummy peas. On Sunday I went to church and enjoyed listening to God’s words for me then it was off to a photo shoot for my Peanut’s five-year old pictures. My sister-in-law Cassi is an awesome photographer and she took stellar pictures of my little beauty girl she truly knows how to capture the essence of her subjects and pours so much love into her art. I am extremely grateful to her for capturing the personality of my child to be remembered forever through her craft. 🙂 And as an added bonus I got to have fun spending time with my little (but very tall) brother while we watched the photo shoot. (Which is a rarity since life is so crazy busy.) Nonetheless it is great to connect and to watch Cassi in action. Sunday night we spent with my crazy fun cousin Zebadiah he helped us bake yummy pumpkin spice muffins after which we shared dinner and much laughter. My life lessons from the everyday grow the more I embrace what is, instead of what I think should be, or what was. I love just living in the moment and enjoying the smell of the trees down by the river with the cool crisp autumn air on my face and arms (since I was classically underdressed)…and the smell of fragrant spices wafting through my house as warmth pours from my oven all the while the smiles of the ones I love filling my heart and home. I greatly enjoyed my day and beg God for many many more like it. I pray that I remember always to get out of my head and live the everyday with passion and purpose.
